Programs for Everyone!

Discussion Groups

We meet twice each month, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, to discuss Buddhist topics and texts. In 2018, we're examining the foundational teachings of Buddhism. While our guiding teacher, Barry PSN, moderates the discussion, each participant contributes freely. 7 p.m., Central School Project, 43 Howell Avenue, in Old Bisbee; we gather in the first basement studio to the left of the stairs.

Dharma Talks

From time to time, Barry PSN offers public dharma talks. These provide an opportunity to learn more about Buddhist teaching and ask questions about practice and everyday life. See this page for upcoming talks.

We celebrate two traditional Buddhist holidays, Buddha's Birthday and Buddha's Enlightenment Day, with ceremonies. The birthday ceremony is in early April and the enlightenment ceremony in early December.

Sunday, December 8, 2019, 9 a.m., Buddha's Enlightenment Day Ceremony, Room to Move Studio
Sunday, April 5, 2020, 9 a.m., Buddha's Birthday Ceremony, Room to Move Studio

Occasionally, Barry PSN will offer workshops on Buddhist art and iconography, selected texts, or other topics. See this page for upcoming workshops.

Barry PSN offers private interviews, as space and time permit. These provide an opportunity to meet privately with a Zen teacher. If you are interested, you can begin kong-an practice during these interviews (kong-ans are a traditional Zen training method). See this page for upcoming interviews.

All events are offered at no charge; we welcome donations to support these programs.

Barry PSN is available for public talks, interviews, and other activities in the Cochise County community. Send an email to learn more.
